My Si has syncros on 5th and 6th.  I never said it needs to be double clutched to perform.  Just makes for smoother gear changes.
Direct from automobiles.honda.com:
"The performance-oriented close-ratio 6-speed transmission is lightweight and compact, with a quick, precise shift action and solid, direct feel. Special features of this transmission include close gear ratios for first through fifth gears and a low 4.765:1 final drive, for faster acceleration, a stiffer cast-aluminum transmission case for reduced noise, carbon-faced single cone synchronizers on fifth and sixth gears for enhanced shift feel and a low-ratio sixth gear for quieter, more fuel-efficient highway cruising."

Also I never disputed that godfathers numbers are insanely questionable, nor am I taking sides, but who the *** are you to give him crap about it.  This forum is primarily less informed individuals seeking friendly advice from people such as yourself.  Nobody including world famous tuners like Kenny Tran had any concept of what they were doing at first.  You do have valid information.  I will vouch for your knowledge as a mechanical engineering student (not just another dumb ass on the web).

However, not every person on this forum wants to build a sub 11 second 1/4 mile car.  I know I dont.  If I was interested in drag racing i'd choose a platform with a torquey high displacement motor.  A lot of people value handling and driving ability over balls to the wall power.  Not to say that any dip *** can handle a 10 second car, but that is more feasible than some dip *** attacking an autoX course without losing control or knocking some cones over.

All in all I'm just sick of seeing newbs getting flamed.  A lot of *** I read on here is far from legitimate, but I do my best to not pay attention to it and go to other forums to read valuable information.

did you not read what kind of engine i had in it. it wasnt a stock tracker motor. it had a o2 s10 motor. in the town i live in the nearest dyno is over 100miles away. we only get a dyno here once a year and its at our spring carshow.

i have been tunin for almost seven years. i know how crappy the stock motor of that car was, that is why i replaced it. the stock motor could only get me to 95mph. i blew the motor at over 125mph. im not a newb to cars, maybe to this, and the only reason im a newb to this is because i just got a computer.

the 1.8t is a nice engine. its alreasy turbo, so you dont have to spend alot of money to tune it. parts for it are harder to find, but youll be different then everyone else. just slap a bigger turbo and a higher psi blow-off valve, new headers, exahst and intake, and you can be pushin some good numbers. in short keep the jetta.

^i take it you havent looked at the importing prices for the r34......even the newest 2008/9 gt-r has a base msrp of around 85grand.  few people on this forum have deep pockets let alone all out baller pay rolls.

i agree with you k20z3. the skyline is the best car, but who the hell has one. a r32 still cost 50gs to import it in, and most of it is just import fees. if you can afford a car that price, you are in the wrong forums.

50g's???? Maybe if your getting a GTR or r34 RWD.

*** r32's generally go for between 12 and 20k and r33's cant be that expensive depending on trim and drivetrain. I live in the middle of hickville Fenton, and some kid no less than a halfmile from me drives his Skyline r33 GTR to work every morning, had a talk with him once.

See the prices for yourself if you dont beleive me.

those prices are probably from sellers who abused the *** out of their skylines at the track on a regular basis making them worth only that amount.  if you want a top of the line condition awd r33 it would cost atleast 50 grand to buy it, import fees, smog certification (doubt the rb26dett meets emissions anywhere in this country), etc.

if you import a skyline over its 50gs min. i had a friend in the airforce buy one in japan and when he went to ship it back it was goin to cost him 25gs to put all the smog *** on it. he payed 15gs for the car. it had over 150000 miles on it.

I fail to see any problem with buying a car that has been raced. Generally those cars are modded, and come with stronger components so that they can race and do it reliably. A lot of them have a lot more money in race parts put into them, that you wouldnt have to buy brand new for at the same price, so you can get a lot of upgrades for cheap by buying a car that has already been modded.

ANd what other purpose would you be buying a skyline for anyways? certainly not a point a to point b car.

Yes 50g's is what you might pay for a nice condition r33 skyline gtr or rwd r34, but not for a lowly r32 thats almost 20 years old, or a rwd r33.

well if you have the money for a skyline all power to you rich people, but for true hard workin people we cant afford them. that is why we buy what we can and build from there. i work on my car month by month, payday by payday. my next step on my car is to get headers and new exhaust pipin. then im goin to replace my crank and my lifters. then my fuel. then my insides cams, rods, and pistons. then a turbo. itll probably take me three years at the least to get it done, not includin the interior or suspension.

Mazda 6 Research
Mazda 6 Car specs are often a major factor when deciding on buying a new Mazda 6. Get all of the information you could want including data on performance, cargo space, handling, fuel efficiency, and all-inclusive car specifications. The Mazda6 comes with a L4 standard engine and goes for a suggested retail price of $21,800.00. It also comes with comparable warranty coverage to other vehicles in its class. Other similar vehicles are the Toyota Prius and the Scion XB.
