So im looking at buying a new car before the summer and i got a few ideas. i want to race it and i plan on doing most of the work on it myself. which one would be the cheapest to buy stock and be reliable.
rx7, supra, silvia, skyline gtr, evo?
ive been driving a year an im pretty decent at it so i wantto go with RWD with turbo. Any other suggestions? The rx7 is probly my 1st choice right now but are there any huge disadvantages it has when it comes to tuning it or driving it?

the downside to the rx7 is also its blessing. the rotary engine in it, while providing tons of power for its size, is really hard to work on unless your familiar with them. the MK3 supra eats head gaskets. the skyline? good luck with that one. evo, nothing but good news if you can afford one. silvia... aka a 240sx, good, especially with an SR20 swap

whats the best starter car for under 5000? ive been thinkin of an s14 or a 2000 1.8t gti another choice would be the honda prelude. i know that the gti and prelude are fwd but they are cheap and i think they look good and have a big aftermarket. the s14 is my first choice but they are hard to find and all the ones i find for under 5000 are auto. i could do a transplant but i dont feel like dealing with that. if i get one i dont think ill put in a sr20det or rb25 but ill definately put some mods on, mostly suspension like coilovers, sway bars, and

Damn I don't know how all you sixteen year olds can afford these pricy ass cars but I'm 16 and getting my license in January I already have a mazda 626 but am buying a new car day of pretty much. I have an $8000 budget and am thinking I maybe a legacy gt, a tiburon, or anything u guys recommend within that budget. Any other ideas you could give me and a reason to go with it would be much appreciated..peace

Hmm, I don't know about you, but I think $8,000 is a good starting budget. I think I had $1,200 to spend for my first car (bought a 90' talon tsi awd).
I'd recommend any Subaru well over any Hundai, especially the Tiburon.
