So many people keep asking the same question... "what car is a good starter car?" "Which is better the STI or Evo 8?" Or "Can I drift my mom's Ford Taurus?"

So i figured i'll cover a bunch of things for people who are new to the forum and maybe new to tuning and the import scene... So let me get started...

First off there is this neat featur called the search button -

It is your friend.

Next 3 wensites that you can find loads of info on...
1. Google
2. wikipedia
3.  howstuffworks,com

Best cars for drifting...
In theory any car with FR ( front-engine, rear wheel drive) layout will do. In practice, certain models crop up again and again. The top 15 cars in the 2003 D1GP were:
6 x S15 Silvia (Nissan 240sx w/ turbo)
3 x AE86 Trueno/Levin (Toyota Corolla)
2 x FD3S RX7 (Mazda)
2 x S13 Silvia (Nissan 240sx w/ turbo)
1 x ER34 Skyline (Nissan)
1 x JZX100 Chaser (Toyota, JDM Only)

Top 10 cars in 2004 D1GP:
5 x S15 Silvia
3 x AE86 Trueno/Levin
1 x ER34 Skyline
1 x FD3S RX7

Top 10 cars in 2005 D1GP:
3 x S15 Silvia
2 x AE86 Trueno/Levin
2 x FD3S RX7
1 x GD Impreza (RWD) (Suburu)
1 x ER34 Skyline
1 x SXE10 Altezza (Toyota aka Lexus IS 300)

Which is better Supercharger or Turbocharger?

both are forms of Forced Induction, aka they force more air into the motor thus creating more power.

What's a good starting car for tuning?

well that depends on you budget and how much experience you have with cars... both working on them and driving them.

A kid who just got their Drivers License should not drive a MR2 Turbo or any high powered car...

A front wheel drive car is best for someone to learn and gain skills in.

Somethings to look for in a car that would be a good platform for tuning would include...

-AWD or RWD (FWD will do but on aceleration weight is taken off the drive wheels and thus maximum torque is lost.

- Something light weight... Coupes (2 door cars) usally are lighter but some are not ie 300ZX... fast car but heavy.

-Turbo or supercharged from factory or V8 NA (naturaly aspired)... they make greater HP (horse power) than a inline 4 cylinder... Also the wankel rotary engine makes loads of HP but low torque.

OK so my friends are calling me to go toa party so I'll add more to this later... People who have loads of experiance and knowledge feel free to add to this... but please DO NOT ask questions on this thread...

Maybe this will get rid of all the "need help" or "what car should I get" treads that are all over.

Mazda 6 Research
Mazda 6 Car specs are often a major factor when deciding on buying a new Mazda 6. Get all of the information you could want including data on performance, cargo space, handling, fuel efficiency, and all-inclusive car specifications. The Mazda6 comes with a L4 standard engine and goes for a suggested retail price of $28,390.00. It also comes with comparable warranty coverage to other vehicles in its class. Other similar vehicles are the Toyota Prius and the Scion XB.
