I recently made a post asking about a 3000GT as a first tuner car.  But i got a lot of bad feed back from it.  I was wondering how well a Jetta would do for me as a first tuner. Or how about a Golf? ive heard alot of  good thing from the Volkswagen group. thanks guys..

Are you talking about a new Jetta or a used one? The new Jettas are very nice and loaded. They are FWD and only the 2.0T has a turbo but they still have good pick up. They have a lot of Standard Features that are seen in higher end cars. I have heard that Jettas are reliable cars. I would have gotten one but it cost more then I could spend.

If your talking about an older Jetta all I know is that there about 6 inches shorter then the new ones. So if your going to have people sit in the back a lot you might want to think about the newer one. But if its just you then older one might be it.

As for the Golf I know nothing about it

The 3000-GT is a monster...  Some people only hate because of its "hummer like" weight.  That car can take on the best of them.  The car is capable of taking on the Supra(which is also a monster).  Don't listen what people say, if you want to be different, the 3000-Gt is the way to go.  Forget the Jetta, its nice and all but, looks like a little kid next to the 3000-GT.

Supra is a full 400lbs lighter, and can also create a shitton more whp on stock internals. On stock turbos you can get a 3000gt to run 12's, but on a supra you can get it to run 11's on stock turbos.

Supra defintily is more of a true sports car than the 3000gt is. Toyota also has a much higher standard of quality than mitsubishi does.
