I'm tired of my stupid saturn and will be looking to buy another car. I'm into nissans and 240sx is getting kind of too common. I was thinking of a 300zx the newer ones, but my friend said thay are "high maintence" (his naughbor owns one he told him so). I was wondering is that true and why?

Buddy of mine has one - '93 TT coupe. It's a sick car, but has virtually no more space under the hood. Very hard to get to any part. I believe that the engine has to be dropped in order to replace the timing belts, haven't seen such a thing from any other car (maybe in 3000GT as well).
It all depends, if you like the car and want to work on it by yourself, then of course get it! But if you will use dealerships and shops to do the work for ya, then you will need a really deep pocket.
You might wanna check out www.carsurvey.org and read up on all 300ZX owner's reviews, see what they say. Hope this helps a little.

The 300ZX is a very sick car. The only thing is the space you have to work with because of its layout(V-6 Twin turbo). If you have the money, you should get one, but to do anything to it, you better have some deep pockets...

Deep pockets a don't have. So the 300zx is a no no. I'll think more about it.

i have a 300zxtt and ive never heard of dropping the engine to replace timing belts. u simply take out the plastic fan bracket for the radiator and fan then ur there.. engine space is limited but still enough room for what u want. sucky part is two turbos to buy when u upgrade rather than just one.. if its a low milage car and not the 90model its not a high maitainace car. 90model was the first and came with some small problems that they changed for their 91models. 91-93 is the same and 94-97 almost the same watchout if you live in a hot country.. the radiator on nissans are small and partly plastic! they might boil 4 a small while until ur rubbber hoses start leaking as ur car gets older. if ur gonna buy one, check the hicas! if that hasnt been maintained ur lookin on a expensive hicas replacement or just a hicas bypass to eliminate 4wheel steering. it gets u 400hp+ with simple mods. chip and boost jets alone gets u up to 60hp (depending on what chip u choose) gain if u remove the catalytic. thats a neck snappin difference compared to 300hp a/t or 320hp m/t. check out z32.com and their tech links and at jim wolf technology and stillen. they choose to specialize in z32tt for a reason! going more than 400hp wont leave u great acceleration difference compared to cost. 560hp and 400hp is only about 4/10 of a sec difference at quarter mile. but when u go all the way u can get 1000hp+ on pump gas
