We had a post similar to this a while back, but it's cleared off the forum. I just want to hear some of the stupid/crazy/"wouldn't ever do it again" stories that some of you guys have. I know that in the last thread 2GNT said he had more to share, but never got around to it. We also have several new members since then, so it'd be cool to hear from you guys. I have to get to work, so I don't have time to post any right now, but I'll be back tomorrow night...

I once took my EVO up to 120 MPH on the highway and did that for a few seconds.  Who know's why I did it.

I've got plenty of ignorant stories that involve me, my car, and usually the mouth of some smartass or ten. I haven't had too much trouble as of late since I haven't been driving my MR2 very much, but I did have some hooligan fun a while back involving my trip to Phoenix, a Lamborghini, and a Z06 Corvette. Serious.

I've got a few things to do right now, so I WILL actually get around to writing something this time.

My old car was a crappy '92 chevy corsica and I got it up to about 105 then the car started to shake real bad and i thought my engine was going to blow up.

i don't know if I posted this before, but I will now. When I had just gotten my driver's license, my grandmother gave me my late grandfather's '88 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. This car had issues, it idled at 2k. i had to put $500 worth of brake work into it. The suspension was shot. And I bottomed out crossing a street and tor a hole inthe oil pan. Well, I got all that fixed. One day, two friends and I were cruisin', and got bored. So, I turned onto this road that had a 10' tall RR crosiing that has about a 30 degree slope to it, and floored it. Fortunately the car had no accelration, and topped out at 75, but that was fast enough to launch us about 20-25 feet into the air, and keep us airborne for 75-100 feet (give or take, I didn't measure). I was EXTREMELY lucky. I got out of it losing a car, and having to buy a pair of glasses (the top was down). You can believe what you like about God, but He was definately watching over a very stupid young person. I wouldn't do it again, but I do wish that I had about 5 camera angles of it. It was the kind of jump that would cause Hollywood to make a movie nvolving a blue '88 LeBaron convetible.

This sums all of it.
Crazy
Looks so fun, buying a 50 dollar car, just to bring it in the middle of the forest and dump it, trash it, and hit it hard. Hard earned 50 bucks, well spent 50 bucks.

i have a similar story, the aproach was flat then the RR crossing, then a steep downhill. a friend was dring his mazda 626. we took it at about 30 and got 6 inches or so off the ground we were off the ground for about a second,  we almost lost it when we hit the ground. but it was fun.

my own story- it happened today, not really dumb since i didnt break any laws, but it was my first street race. Disclaimer: i didnt break 50mph in a 45.
a friend of mine bought a pre riced civic. bug eye headlights, half altezzas, 5" tip tire rubbing, you get the picture. me and a few other friends were going to the high school and he told me to get into the other lane as we were coming to a stoplight. he does a little rev. i chuckle. i had previously looked under the hood, it was a 1.6l SOHC. instead of a full radiator with a condensor behind it, civics have half radiator half condensor, i was surprised. anyways, at the stop light i launch at 2k, by the time i shift into 3rd, hes entirely in my rear view mirror. he said i jumped the light and the fact i chirped the tires scared him, i just think he cant shift. i had a hearty laugh.

this isnt something i did but. its me telling my cousins story from my standpoint

My cousin got a 320hp for mustang gt.. for her 16th birthday.. around the same time a couple of her friends got a new cougar.. always picked at her and told her she drives like a grandma etc.. but she wouldnt race them. finally 1 day after she got done helping out the kids after church she finally said screw it and would race her friends.... no witnesses saw what happened but.. it all ended up with her mustang taking out an entire fence row then wrapping around a light pole instantly killing her.. the 2 guys in the cougar.. their car flipped 3 times killing both of them as well. where she got killed you can see the chairs sitting on the back porch of her house.. stupid decision like took 3 lives that day... probably saved mine.. my motivation to not street race..

I have a couple stories of something stupid I did.

One happened yesterday.
THe other day I was almost a victim to my own poetic justice. I was following a guys tail bumper really close cuz he was doin like 20 in a 30mph zone. I wanted him to speed up, plus my car has the same 60-0 on its stock rims and tires (I have modified rims and tires) as a Ferrari F40 so even if he were to brakecheck me, my car stops pretty damn quickly from having its weight in the middle, over the braking tires.

Anyhoo, the man then stopped in the middle of the twolane road. Gets out. Proceeds to tell me to stop tailgating him and give him space. I said "I can go around if you like" he didnt say anything. Well me being kinda mad that the guy is driving like an old lady in the first place, and then asks me in a car that is quite outstanding at stopping compared to his SUV needs to worry about a little MR2 Turbo maybe hitting his 4000lb tank of a car, well i decided best to go around him.

So I started to spool up and go around him and over the double yellow line. Right then, somebody pulling out, I guess wanted to go on the "right" side of the road, while I was on the "weong" side.

Had I been in a normal car, it might have been a close accident, but the MR2 Turbo can stop as quickly as it picks up which it did and it wasnt even close, but both me and him then stopped, I saw I still had space though, and spooled past the car pulling out as it had seen me on the wrong side and stopped.

Yea, it was still rude of him to actually stop the car and ask, if he dont want to tailgate do atleast 5 under the speedlimit or more or something, but speed the [censored] up.

However I was an idiot for maybe having almost crashed my
car right then and there.

A couple years ago a guy called me a *** while I was driving my miata. It created a bad road rage incident as I proceeded to cut him off, and throw things at his car at half the speed of traffic, trying to get him to pull infront of me.

I decided to get a less girly car after that incident and got the mr2 turbo instead. Havent been called a *** driving that car.

i was leaving a local meet last night. it had just started to rain so all the oil/rubber made it verry slippery. i neglected that little fact and tried to make a left turn on a divied highway. as i was making the turn to the left the rear end just slides out i almost totally lose control. i over corrected and see that traffic had caught up with me and see a truck passing me on the right through my windsheild. luckily i regain control with no damage done to anyone or anything, just scared the [censored] out of me.
