BEWARE: Modified Exhaust Ticket

The modified exhaust ticket has been a gray area even after SEMA introduced the BAR decibel testing program back in '03 in which aftermarket exhausts are SUPPOSED to be legal if under the 95 decibel limit for the state of California.
Thing is, California cops still routinely pull people over--such as myself--for the infamous modified exhaust misdemeanor. Last year I received a ticket in violation of code 27151 which concerns overly loud exhausts. To make a long story short, I had my car decibel tested with flying colors so I got around that, but a few months ago I received a ticket in violation of 27150--"modified exhaust."
Now it's not about overly loud exhaust or not; it's the aftermarket exhaust itself. Period.
The popos are getting tricky.
So this morning I went to the Stanton Sheriff Department to TRY to get my ticket signed off. All I did was stick a silencer on there (believe me, it purrs like a kitten). HOWEVER, the deputy refused to sign me off even though it was quiet on the grounds that I received a ticket for "modified exhaust" and not loud exhaust.
"You can either reinstall the stock exhaust or go to court," the deputy says.
When I ask him about WHY aftermarket exhausts are illegal, he says: "It's law in California. Lobbyists are successful in persuading lawmakers to pass certain bills. That's all."
Well, my court date is this Friday, and that's where I'm going to be--for the second time. I hope the judge waives the ticket without a glance like last time, because seriously, this mischief is getting ridiculous.
In the meantime, I'm going to bang my head with a shovel, start dressing up as a woman, and go hump a cactus.
Btw, is anyone reading this??????????????

thats why i never want to live in California, you can get arrested or tickited for almost anything, they have realy tight car modifacation restrictions and they even use a differnt type of gasoline then the 49 other states

Question is too, why would anyone want to. So far 3 shows on Japanese, American, German car, and all 3 exhausts results were... let's say unsatisfactory. Take a look at what and how we achieved our results.

Florida>California. While people in CA are getting pulled over for having street legal mufflers, people are getting pulled over here in FL for having NO EXAHUST AT ALL. LMFAO. Florida FTW.

haha, yeah, same here (in Texas) we even have cops who streetrace themselves...
interresting story: I used to work delivering pizza, and on my hay back to the store, I'm driving ~100mph on I-30 (there's no one on the road at all, it's like 2am) then outta nowhere, I see these two pair of headlights in my rearview and they just Fly past me...Two police cars racing

i dont have to worry about all this exhaust stuff down here in hickville tn. every body runs there malibus with open headers, or have a hole in their muffler. my exhaust is pretty loud, (LS1 through a resinator and three inch pipe) and ive never been pulled over for it. but i have been pulled over because they heard me from like a mile away and them just being board. they come up to my window, aske "u got drugs in the car." i say no, then "okay have a good night"

I envy all you people who can drive loud cars in other states, not like Nazifornia where just about anything is condemned. Seriously, you all should go bang your heads with shovels, start dressing up as werewolves, and go hump cactuses.

Hard to watch the remainder of that video clip after she says, "My name is Lilly Wang." That just really made me laugh.
And I must say, that fella is an idiot. Why?
"I know that changing the exhaust system changes the fuel mixtures."
Arrrgh. What a turd.

wow i could only watch the first 9 minutes becasue i realized I was wasting my valuable life watching *** that guys an idiot, and that girl is so incredibly clueless I'd never let her near my car. She has less intellect than a cheese wheel. Based on what I saw, I don't believe thier 'results' as accurate.

I got ticketed for having my exhaust cut off under the passenger floor board of my Ranger in Chatt. I asked the officer if a glasspack was a qualifying exhaust, and whether I had to have an actual shop do the work. He said "yes", and "no". So a receipt from Advance auto parts for $25 got the ticket dismissed!
