There is an event in the making known as "Hyundais In The Hills." All models of Hyundais will show, there will be competition, awards will be distributed, and good times and memories will be made.
There is already quite a list of people planning to attend the 4-day show and meet. If you drive a Hyundai, or even if you don't, this event will be lots of fun and well worth the vacation!
It is being held at the Vinton County Airport in Ohio. It is planned for June 16 - June 19, 2006. There will be raffles, fireworks, the whole 9.
For more information, or to make it known that you want to attend, check the event out at Hyundaimeet.com or visit the community where it originated, ElantraXD.com.
BTW, you can't pass up the Grunge Runs! And where better to drag than an air strip? Check it out.

i guess the tiburon (this gen) isnt too bad, nice styling. but its drawback is FWD. i always get kia and hyundai mixed up though. they specialize in econoboxes.

I'd like to think of my elantra as a performance car.. It's turbo'd, catback exhaust, upgraded suspension and brakes. Anyway, if you have a Hyundai and want to bring it out, we'll be in Ohio this June!

There are actually a lot of people enthusiastic of Hyundais. They have, in recent years, become well designed, very reliable, easy to work with, luxurious cars. The meet is supposed to have about 100 attending Hyundai cars with no model limitations. The aftermarket is a good one, yet hard to find and very sparse, making what modifications have been uncovered even more respectable.
Saturday, June 17th will be the day the actual 'Car Show' will be held. This includes several awards in different categories, SPL competition, etc among the Hyundai participants. All of the locals and travelers will be welcome during this time to hang out, check out the cars, admire the modifications, hear the noise, take advantage of the concessions, whatever.
I will post back with an exact time for the car show to begin. I think the semi-final decision is 1pm CST.

please. luxurious? have you driven anything other than an econobox?
"The aftermarket is a good one, yet hard to find and very sparse"
Then it isnt very good is it? a good aftermarket has a variety of competitors for almost any part imaginable. not being able to squeeze a civic intake onto your accent.
im not trying to be an [censored], but statements like that make me question your credibility.

Actually, some of the newer Hyundais are pretty luxurious. Have -you- ridden in any of them? Like the new Azera, or the new Sonata? Read some reviews on 'em.
And in it's price range, the Elantra is one of the best, the new 07 has options for leather, heated seats, and comes standard with 6 airbags and abs.
I think what korai meant on the aftermarket... is that their is an aftermarket crowd that's pretty big, but not a lot of parts to choose from really, so guys get pretty creative and do more custom mods. The Accord CAI does fit the Elantra though, along with some other manufacturer's parts.
Here's one Elantra that's pretty awesome: http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3364

Actually, I meant that the aftermarket is sparse, but what we have to work with is good. The elantra I drive uses so many parts similar to the 04 and similar Tiburons that it's crazy. I have been in and driven many vehicles, I do have some foundation to back up my opinions. You are going a bit off topic though... this is about a meet and car show in June, not about opinions on credibility.

The event's registration has officially opened. If you're in, follow the instructions and let us know. This will be an event you'd hate to miss if you are a Hyundai driver.
