Hi everyone, as you can probably tell i am a bit pissed. im not ignorant of the "import scene" but i am certainly not apart of it. I currently own two cars. one is a 91 camaro rs with the [censored] little v6 sitting on the shop floor. the reason for this is that i have recently diagnosed it with a "knocking rod". Now for all you "moviegoers" that think u know a thing or two about making cars fast and furious but honestly are just a [censored] pile of the pathetic generation x that dont even know the difference between an enginge that is carberated and an engine that is fuel injected, a knocking rod is when the rod bearing because extremely worn to the point that it loosens and the piston rod "knocks" against the block because the poor thing just cant stay put and the reason that i gave it the diagnosis is because the engine was producing a sound alot like an exaust leak, only about 10 times as loud and there were metal flakes drownd in the black oil wich sort of looked like silver paint. Do I plan to set the v6 back onto the engine mounts after having the crankshaft turned and the block machined? why no because i dont have a machine shop and that prosses will cost several hundred dollars on top of neccesarily buying a complete engine rebuild kit and working countless hourse to bring the 3.1 litre 120 horse mouse back to life. what i do plan on doing however, is welding new engine mounts and dropping in a 454 cubic inch cast iron big block "V8". A "V8" for all you scratching your heads right now is what people put in their cars or trucks to make them go fast. I also have a 4th generation pontiac trans am with an origional aluminum block "V8". I have recently modded it with a GM LS6 conversion kit wich includes the ls6 cam, pushrods, and c5 corvette heads. to unchoke the "torque", another word that is associated with fast, i completly took off the exhaust."OH MY *** you might say "YOU TOOK OFF THE EXHAUST?!" yes i took the exhaust off and did not hook up a [censored] fart pipe. there is no exhaust i am running open headers. the powerplant is pumping 450 (net not gross) horsepower and about the same amount of torque on a bad day without "nosss" (wich i will later get to) and beleive it or not is getting reasonable gas mileage (about 25 mpg) thanks to GM's EMS (Engine Management System), non restrictive headers, and a hellacious diagnostics tuner. with the same setup i could easily pump 700 horsepower with a larger throttle body, a zex nitrous fuel injector system, and a better rear end, head gaskets and stronger transmision gears, drive shaft and axles to keep the car from litterally tearing to peices under the hellaciouse force of the REAR WHEEL DRIVE POSITRAC proportion. Now you are probably wondering to yourself "why is he pissed?" well ill tell you. I recently just moved from Arkansas to california and noticed a variety of mostly kids and hispanincs that drive peice of [censored] hondas and acuras with sick looking looking rear spoilers (not the good sick)and exauhst systems that sounds as horrible as there cars look that ,get this, actually think there cars will run. heartbreaking. more heartbreaking is they actually think they have a shot at me and my trans on stoplights(and i concure this with the drop dead annoying double revs my guess is they are trying to push me)and think im a [censored] when i dont race them because even blowing their doors off so bad and make their pasnsy little asses cry in front of their hoochie girlfriends is not worth a ticket and my insurance going up. Let me get some things straight. for one, putting a rear spoiler on a 100 horsepower wrong wheel drive civic does not help the car perform better. It hurts the cars performance. it adds wheight and wind resistance, which SLOWS THE CAR DOWN. Fart pipes hurt performance. When automakers tune exauhst, they specificly tune it to get the most out of the engine especially 4 cylinders because 4 cylinder engines need the most horsepower that they can possibly sputter so they can have just enough to make the car go. This in turn helps gas mileage and reduces emissions wich makes the car more economical hence the phrase "economy car". The reason these so called "high performance" exhaust pipes make such a "farty" sound is because the shape of the tip curves inward causeing the exhaust to hit and make a "pop" noise and with a bunch of consecutive "pops" causes a "farty" sound. This then puts a ton of back pressure on the engine causing a major torque lag wich can add up to 25 lost horsepower and a shity sounding car. Whats this you say,"But the catalog said that it would add horsepower". Okay. They call it a catalog because it is trying to sell a product to you. todays world will lie just to make money and when you strap on one of these bad boy fart pipes, the car sounds different so you think it added horsepower, therefore you wont return the product and the "catalog" just laughingly skrewed you out of 150 buckaroos or more. Now lets talk about "NOSSS". First of all it is called "NITROUS". The reason you dumbasses with rear spoilers think it is called "nosss" is because of a thing called "congruity advertising". this is what happened in a certain movie in which an orginization called "Nitrous Oxide Systems" paid the directors to replace Nitrous with the word "NOSSS" so every time people thought about getting a miraculouse substance that contains a lot of oxygen that will burn a lot better that plain air when mixed with fuel, they would think NOSSS. It worked and you need to get this out of your pansy ass heads its not called NOSSS, its called nitrous. Another thing, you cant just hook friggin nitrous to a car and make it go faster. its not that simple. you have to change injectors, gaskets, fuel rails,intake manifold and a hell of a lot more, plus, you have to completly change your computers stock system by using a "nitrous freindly diagnostics chip". In total conclusion, stop thinking that you can buy an old used 90 horse wrong wheel drive civic, strap on a rear spoiler, a fart pipe, and some nosss, and make it go faster. You are stupid and ignorant,stop trying, nobody likes you get a damn life.

A long study of fluid dymanics would help you overcome your lack of knowledge on this subject.  In no way on this planet would removing a restrictive chambered muffler and installing a free-flowing unit increase backpressure.  Furthermore, anyone who thinks the OEM exhaust (or ANY part, for that matter) was designed to the fullest performance potential is a fool.  Engineers don't make decisions about performance.  Attorneys and accountants make decisions around which the engineers build the cars.  It's that simple.

Really?  Why does NOS (owned by Holley) offer a dry-kit that includes 2 nitrous solenoids, a nitrous pressure regulator, a nozzle to match and a vacuum tee with a restrictor to control flow from the regulator to the fuel pressure regulator?  Furthermore, how come many of the people on this planet run up to a 100 shot on a dry kit like this?

What about ZEX, who offers the dry kit with computer control?  They don't have to re-chip (more appropriately, re-calibrate) the ECU.

And of all the dry kits out there, none REQUIRE upgrading injectors, throttlebody, etc.


I'm gonna call the BS flag here.  I doubt you have the things you say you have, in terms of automobiles.  And, I SERIOUSLY doubt you drove around California more than two days with open headers before being pulled over and cited for illegal exhaust, illegal engine in the car, illegal intake, etc.

However, I do hate giant wings on econoboxes and coffee can mufflers hanging on a 1 7/8" pipe.  It's quite obnoxious.

And in response to your factory exaust rant, your wrong, the factory exaust is not made to save fuel idiot, or increase performance, its made to quiet the exaust, hince the small piping diamater and restrictive maze like mufflers. And great diagnosis with the thrown rod bearing, what are you [censored] bill nye. Please, a 3rd grader could know whats going on if you have metal shaving's in your oil. Grow some balls and some brains ***

alright gritboy. go make dumbass assumptions about how we all dont know [censored] about any domestic car ever. especially since there is not a 71 nova with a 396 bored to 409 sitting in my families garage. and theres not an impala SS with an LT1 sitting in the driveway. and not a 350 from a wrecked 69 chevy truck. and not a 2.8l motor sitting on an engine stand. oh and my supra has rear wheel drive and LSD, big deal. you see most of us are young. i persoanlly dont want to drive my dads nova, my driving skill is not advanced enough to safely handle that. oh and i havent modified my car either. you go ahead and complain about ricers, in fact thats the reason i first came, but these guys (on the whole) are not ricers. so dont come here whining before you know anything about who you are whining to.

where are your timeslips, if youve put that much effort you mustve taken it to the strip. i assume the strip since you only spoke of engine mods.

have fun refabbing the front of that V6 camaro to fit the BB. BBC's tend to be pretty heavy.

wow, i may be new to this forum, but im not a dumbass...
for example the exhaust, small diameter exhausts have more back pressure that larger diameter ones, i learned by thinking of it as a water hose. have a 1/2 inch hose and turn it on full blast it comes shooting out with a [censored] load of velocity, but install a 4 inch hose, and it will come leaking out, because the velocity is drastically decreased due to the less back pressure. sure you dont need 3 1/2 inch exhuasts and will also lose hp, due to no back pressure, but they do help if your running boost. if your running N/A then get somwhere in the middle.
and in california, i also doubt that you havent gotten any citations for any of the [censored] your running, if you really own it.
yea i dont like the 3 foot high wings, but if you happen to own a RWD/AWD and just so happen to have high number horse power, then it isnt just useless weight.
they also arent 90 pounds eathier, most people i know use carbon fiber, if their actually serious about racing.
again most people on the forum are not ricers, who have 50 pound chrome wheels, big wings, and a simple IHE to say that they modified they're car. they are knowledgable (i know i cant spell for [censored]...) i plan on going to wyo tech, and to try and learn more about cars, and am hoping to one day own an import shop.
your talking about how big bad V8's are soo badass, yea they pull some big numbers, but guarenteed they'res a 4 banger that will beat your ass. youv'e seen 4g63 engings that are in the evos right? they put down some huge numbers, and are said to be the best bang for you buck engine on the market today.
well i finish later, i bet you just go to random import forums, rant and never come back to see the posts.
why would you even bother to make yourself an account, and then talk a bunch of [censored], and leave?

next time if you are going to put someone down go do it somewhere else not here. this a Forum for import tuners not for muscle cars . second i was just mad that day i had a bad [censored] day alot of [censored] happen that got me so damn pissed off and when i  came home i  had to read something that just made me even more mad. maybe next time just say people not a certain type of race ok as for the part that we are poor i say that because where i live all i see is a bunch of ricers with [censored] up civics and big ol chiken wings and fart pipes which just make me get the [censored] out of where i live

Yeah ill definitly go with you on that but even a used evo is hard to get under 20 grand if your talkin the 260+ HP version.
