Ok, i've been told LOTS of things about LOTS of difforent cars and I still can't decide witch car to get... I'm mainly going for Imports..maybe a Domestic(SRT4 etc..)..But Im still not sure witch car to get..
Parents are buying me the car and I have the money to turbo it and stuff like that..just dont know witch car to supe up...
Right now my main choice a 01-04 Honda Civic EX Coupe with the SOCH VTEC because they have numerous upgrades and parts and stuff like that but..I feel as if there are other/better options for a car then a Civic...so PLease help
I don't know really what else, others are Eclipses but they seem to be always falling apart
Subaru Impreza RS's
Could be a chance of finding a cheap Supra but highly doubt it..
Sentra SE-R Spec V
AUdi's
A SRT-4 might be nice
I know there are other cars I can't think of right now but I really need some advice from people...
I need to know what would be the lowest price, no gas guzzlers, somthing with alot of aftermarket parts and somthing easy to upgrade and tune with turbos and other crap like that
I know stuff about cars and aftermarket parts but I just am not sure on the whole CAR buying situation....plz help
SO PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF YOUR LOOKING AT THIS

look at it this way not all supras are mkIV i just bought a 90' supra mkIII for 2k needs alittle work but it has the awsome 7M-GET (turbo) pushing 7.5 psi not much but pulls hard bone stock fun but expensive to mod
how much do you have to play with i am assuming areound 10k cause i did the math
civic = $5000 small mods = $1000 turbo = $4000 (including a turbo timer and all other mods for turbo)
so yeh if you look you can find a MKIV TT for 10k in good cond. maybe not mint but good...

A Supra? Arent those hard to find and I didn't think the older models had much in them compared to the newer ones...
Actually I have a way of getting discounts and getting a turbo kit and everything for alil over 1K
Well I guess i'll look in to them...How reliable are they? Are they like an 90-97 Eclipses to where a part is always falling off of them?
Are aftermarket parts alot for em'? again I need somthing that can be cheaply modded, IM NOT saying that modding a car is cheap BUT would like somthing thats on the cheaper side
Also i've been leaning towards the 99-02 Audi A4's, 1.8L Turbo AWD 5Speed... I like them because there AWD turbo'd and they seem pretty reliable...Can anyone tell me bout them?

Forget about this. You're never going to be albe to afford an Audi, even if your parents pay for it. Besides, your insurance is going to be atrocious. Wait until you're in your mid to late twenties before messing with an Audi. ![]()
About the Supra... ANY turbo Supra is too much for a sixteen year old kid. Be smart and be realistic.
Here's what I would do: get something with reasonable power stock (turbo or not... ~200HP) and learn on that. You'll become a much better driver learning all of the ins and outs on a slower car than doing it in reverse order. Starting off in a high horsepower car wiil either get you into trouble or dead. TRUST ME.

well, yea thanks...see I need advice obviously...
Soo you think a Civic with the D17 Ex would be good? or get alil older model and drop a H22A1 in it..
Or if you can tell me of any other begginner cars let me know because I wanna start learning this stuff soon because i'm stuck driving my Dads stock 03 Aurora 4.0L(dous high 14's in the quarter mile), since its an auto its easy to control rather if it was a stick shift and i really want my own car soon..
to bad they stopped the Olds, the Aurora is so nice and has a DOHC 32V SLS Northstar V8...Not that its a car for me and all, considering i'm alot more import then domestic, I think its really underestimated by others and it surprises people...I know I know..... I've been driving his car around for to long and i'm becoming attached to it..

Civics are great cars, but it honestly takes a pretty good sum of money to make them reasonably fast. You could do a swap, but that's going to run you anywhere from $3k-$5k and not net you as much horsepower as you'll like. If you're dying to get something fast, look for a car that's turbocharged from the factory. For example: Mitsu Eclipse GS-T/GSX, Nissan 300ZX, Toyota MR2 and Supra... the list could go on. You can also get something with a big V6 or V8 and RWD. You'll be set from there.
Take my advice... start slow and work your way up as you go. You'll thank me for it later.

thanks for the advice..Um if I got an Eclipse, i've heard bad things about em', that they don't last long people tell me...anything I should know about them?... 300ZX's are cool and their Nissan so that says alot...Supras are expensive to work on and I don't know much about the MR2...Thanks though and i'll look into em'!! thanks alot!

Oh, if I had a chance..Would a SRT-4 be good to start on?

I'd say no regarding the SRT-4 because, after all, it's still a Neon under there. On top of that, it's a relatively high horsepowered FWD car. That's a potentially dangerous setup in the wrong hands, not to mention the true performance drawbacks that FWD brings.
Up to you, but I'd stick to the cars I suggested. You could also add the Subaru WRX to that lineup. They're great cars, take well to mods, and are rather stout. Again, I'd start off slower, but it doesn't seem like that's going to be the case for you. Just be careful is all I ask.

Well, yea I understand..I just dont want to start out on somthing crapy to where I can't build up on as I learn about this all
A Impreza WRX? Hmm..Those are pretty fast...considering there AWD turbo'd...I'd rather start with the Impreza RS 2.5L and build up on that kinda of platform...
OR the Eclipse, but would they take alot to keep them in working order? But I really do like Eclipses, so if theres anything you can tell me about them please do..Oh and I need a 4-5 seater not a 2 seater like the 300ZX or MR2...
I'm just looking for somthing that screams i'm powerfull and looks good...Nothing relativly Fast but kinda up there...
thanks and I keep racing off the street, I save it for practice on the Track

If you need seating for four or five, you can't go wrong with a WRX. Don't bother with a Impreza 2.5i or what not. You'll only get faster by doing a swap and you won't get the other benefits that are part of the WRX's improvements. As for the car in general, it's a four door: you're set. On top of that, you get Suabru's fabled AWD and rally heritage to back you up. I didn't even mention Subaru's build quality.
As for fast, mention the three letters in that car's name and everyone KNOWS what they mean: WRX = performance. If they don't know, they're stupid. It's pretty simple. ![]()
As for the Eclipse, finding one that isn't beat to [censored] isn't going to be easy. Additionally, none of the generations of the Eclipse have a back seat to speak of. If you're looking for a first generation car, good luck. Most of them will be pretty well beaten up and will require some hard earned money to get them to relatively good shape. Both generations of cars take very well to mods (4G63 is VERY mod friendly), but the second generation car suffers from a severe condition called crankwalk. Instead of me explaining it, do a google search for that term and you'll find plenty on it. It can be solved by rebuilding or swapping. Whichever more fits your budget will help you decide.

Thanks, I have always been a fan of the STi, but didn't know much of the WRX and RS, but yea Subaru has awesome performance and every model is AWD so thats hard to beat!
I figured out that the Eclipses would have problems that I wouldn't feel like dealing with...I found a site that had info about the CrankWalk" and wow that's not somthing I wanna be stuck with..Thanks
Thanks for the info and i'm def' looking into the WRX...

Early first gen DSMs (Eclipse, Talon, Laser) have the 6 bolt version of the 4G63 which does NOT crankwalk. The 4G63 engine is probably THE strongest production four cylinder ever made.
