Hey there. So you want to purchase an R34. Why not try going to Motorex.net and looking for one. They can help you purchase and import your car, as well as legalize it for american standards. Give it a try. I hope to own one someday, but I'm just a broke college student. Maybe in a few years when I'm getting paid big bills.

You can't get a Skyline of any sort into this country for less than $50k. And an R34 will easily run you upwards of $80k. I can think of many, MANY cars that would blow away the Skyline in any variety for half of that. hell, for that money, you could buy a 2006 Z06 Corvette. I'd much rather have that, thank you very much.

I can't agree more...with the corvette being able to beat a Skyline R34's ass all day long on a straight. I  personally would go for an R32 GTR myself for looks and just all around sick car. But what would out handle one another the R34 or the Z06? But either way they are both supercars..then u gotta think it would be alot cooler cruising around in a skyline because how often do u see an R34 on the BLOCK?

The Vette would more than beat the R34 on the straights.. it would smack the hell out of it everywhere else, too. Here's some numbers:

0-60: 3.6 sec.
Standing 1/4 mile: 11.7 @ 125MPH
Top speed: 198 MPH
Roadholding: .98G
HP: 505

All this for around $70k. So, which would YOU rather have? To hell with cruising around and trying to look cool.. I want something that's just as rare and a hell of a lot more capable at everything than any Skyline. Period.

minimal turbo upgrades the skyline would be up to speed and rippin the vette and yes im sure if u turboed the vette it would win again..............then u just look at stuff like top secrets skylines and theres no comparison. im into handling japanese cars not top end vettes that wont touch skylines on track.

I think everyone that wants a skyline just wants one for the cool factor. I personally like the car. I want an R33. Of course they're a hassle and costs are outrageuos, but they are still sweet. Speed isn't everything to me either. I guess it's just a matter of personal choice and opinion. But yeah, very expensive. I would just enjoy having one stock.

Ummm.... no. It would take WAY more than minimal turbo upgrades to come close to a Z06. Sure, Top Secret's got a sweet one as do many others... but how much did it cost to make them that way? I'd be willing to bet it was a hell of a lot more than it costs to buy that Vette stock.

As for racing, I think you need to watch a little more closely. The Corvette Racing C5R and C6R’s are the most dominant road race cars out there. The Skyline couldn't touch it. If you think otherwise, so be it. However, the facts speak for themselves. And the race Vettes all pull WELL over 1g with ease, cornering isn’t an issue.

I don't hate the Skyline, so get that out of your head. I’m not a huge fan of the Vettte, either. I just have enough sense to not be blindsided by a very overrated car.

The GTR Skylines are a super played out 13 year old's jerkoff dream, in the way that Lamborghini Countachs were years ago. As Americans, they are fairly unobtainable, which makes them beat-off fodder for riceboys who have actually found a Japanese sports car that has decent enough factory styling to compete with a Corvette or a car of that nature. The difference is, the Corvette is a way better bang for your buck than the Skyline could ever be. Forget the C5, how about the new C6 Z06? Dry sump oil system from the factory, 500hp, revs to 7k rpm with a PUSHROD V8.... and all for less than $80,000.... hmmm, yeah, I think Ill take the Corvette thanks. I love it when these rice boys talk about the twisties afterwards, and how the GTR can turn.... well, see, the Corvette, is not a "dumb muscle car". It's a world renowned sports car, ranked with Porsches and Ferraris and other cars twice it's price. It can turn, and it can turn well. And it does it without Attessa ETS, and it does it with LEAF SPRINGS.

Also, before anybody calls me a hater of things Japanese, I would take a turbo MKIV Supra over a Skyline anyday. Why? Well, see, 2JZ-GTE Supra engines are known for their ability to handle ONE THOUSAND HORSEPOWER ON A STOCK BOTTOM END. I don't think any of the RB series engines can stack up to that feat. And you can have one of those for less than a Skyline too.

Okkkkk, for al you ppl who have never seen a skyline perform in person, please be quiet. You guys are talking off the top of your heads about what the Skyline can do and what it wont beat. The Z06 Vette might have 500+Hp but it doesnt put it down to the ground. Firstly the Skyline (attesa) 4WD and torque spliting system give much better traction than any American made car everrrrrrr. Skylines can hold over 1000Hp on stock crank just like the 2JZ. The Supra cant put down the power also but the Skyline can handle slighty better due to its 4WD which can be made into RWD with a ECU modification. Its not about the power output of the engine its about which can transfer it to the ground ad handle it well..... But its not worth importing to the States waste of time might as well you buy a Supra and get a 1JZ head for it

I've seen tuned Skylines before, and I wasn't that impressed. I've also seen some Vettes that weren't impressive, but I have seen plenty that were mind blowing. You need to get out more and pull your head from your ass. The Skyline is NOT the pinnacle of automotive performance. It's that simple. But wait, you say!

"Firstly the Skyline (attesa) 4WD and torque spliting system give much better traction than any American made car everrrrrrr."

AWD is great, but a highly tuned RWD is just as capable if not more so. Think about it. Do F1 and Indy cars run AWD? No. Why? Because they don't need it. It's too heavy and prone to failure under high HP numbers. RWD is much more reliable and can actually put down better HP numbers without nearly as much drivetrain loss.

"The Supra cant put down the power also but the Skyline can handle slighty better due to its 4WD which can be made into RWD with a ECU modification."

If you have an AWD Skyline, why the hell would you destry the drivetrain to make it RWD when you can just buy a Skyline with RWD in the FIRST PLACE? Come on, dude!
