I love them both, why the hell not. Muscle cars are great. Raw power and simple looks. Nothing like a drag on a quarter mile at the tracks. Imports are great becuase of the mods and whatnot that can be done to them. Nothing like a stylish body kit and a clean paint job with rims. That modded out jazz (I'm talking about the engine and suspension, etc) goes the same for the muscle cars. I wish I could own a 1969 Dodge Charger. I would definitely love to have that in my garage. I would also like to have something like a tricked out EVO or even some little 240sx/silvia drifter. Why not? Cars are cars. They go fast, some can be used just for show. You just can't disrespect one portion of the culture and get down with the other. (That's my opinion)

Because, everybody likes a little Rivalry. I use to be a V8 Hater, because I ran into some kids who loved V8's and hated imports in highschool, kind of like how Hitler hated Jews. But if your really about speed, a V8 is alot ezier to make fast than an import. a 13 second quarter in the import world is considered "good". A 13 second quarter in the Muscle car world, well atleast for ones with mods, is considered a disapointment.

You looser! you come up to me on the street and the rumble from my engine will make earthquakes! I'll make your car look like chicken [censored]!
Whew! had to get that out. Okay so first off, all you import guys have got to be shiting yourselves!!! I have a Pro Street 1970 Charger that will rape any import in a quarter mile. Thats right the same car that Vin Diesel drove in "Fast and the Furious", so all you *** who hate the movie, don't be jelous that the only reason that stupid import kept up with the charger was because of NOS. RAW POWER BABY!!!! My Charger is packing a hefty Blown 540 HEMI pumping out around 900+ horses. And if thats not enough for you my Bro has a top fuel dragster thats pumping out 8000+ running on Nitro Methane Fuel. And the engine...thats right, american!!!

#1, the reason the supra kept up with the charger was because it was a movie.
#2, people who actually use "Nitrous" dont call it NOS like you do.
#3, swinging from another racers nuts, like your suposed "brother" who would have to be a known famous drag racer to run in that class of drag racing, will get you nowhere, on this messageboard or real life for that matter. No one gives a [censored] what your brother has or runs.
#4, any one can claim they have this or that car, the fact that you choose a 1970 Dodge charger as your suposed monster 900+ hp car automatically tells me your probably full of [censored]. Most of the people who are truly into drag racing, dont use 40,000 dollar old skool muscle cars to get 900hp out of. These days its all about the 5.0 Mustang, LT1 and LS1 camaro's and fireturds's for the most part, and the occasional big block in a Pinto, atleast thats how things are at my local track.
I am sorry you can not appreciate other people who are also into improving the performance of there cars. A v8 is definitly the cheapest route to go fast, but a turbocharged 4cylinder or V6, is a definite 2nd. Hell, a Buick GNX with a grand in mods (alcohol injection, and 30 psi of boost), could probably blow doors off most forced induction v8's, making it, IMO, the cheapest and best route to making a fast car for little invested, not counting the car.
People have different preferences, and I by no means condone what that other import [censored] who claims to "smoke" v8's said (hes probably full of [censored], since a cammed LS1 has potential to run 10's). Pretty much, no matter how fast your imported car is, atleast when it comes to the quarter mile, there is always a faster v8, but I can respect that other people have different preferences.

It gets rather tiresome, but it'll never end. I'm not going to propagate the argument that imports are not fast and can't hang with muscle cars or the like. I KNOW how fast imports can be... I've owned two tire shredders. However, I don't feel it's necessary to brag about how fast my car is because of a shortcoming somewhere else.
If it's fast- great. If it's not, who cares? As long as you're satisfied with it, what difference does it truly make? Besides, I'll bet he looks REALLY cool racing a tuned Honda in his big, 'ol muscle machine, huh? He might be a bit more smug if he raced something with more power.

First, I never said that imports can't be fast. I know that there are really fast imports out there, and thats cool, but when people like the person I origenally quoted start ragging on Classic Muscle saying that there crap, I get [censored] pissed.
Also to the person who was talking [censored] about me, I don't go out looking to race imports, or any other cars for that matter. Muscle Cars and hot rods are my hobby. I have various street rods and my charger is the only car that i have that is over 500 hp. And if your gonna say that american engines are the cheapest way to go, you don't know [censored]. My 540 HEMI alone cost me $20,000. I'm not against imports, cars are just personal preference, but if you don't know crap about american muscle and your talking [censored], be sure that I'm gonna say something about it.

Understood. I'm sure you can imagine how many people we get here who are gung-ho domestic and simply won't waver from that. You're not from that mold, which I see, so you have my respect.
I wasn't the one talking crap about you, but I will say that on average, domestic motors cost far less to build than an import. I understand how much you've spent on your Hemi, and again I commend your efforts. I easily have over $12k into my 3S-GTE MR2 motor, so I'm right there with you. I was born and raised a Chevy man and have built some monsters with my father. He tell s me all the time how much he could do with the money some import parts cost and laughs. I don't laugh but weep instead.. I know he's right. However, he never has anything negative to say about riding in my 400WHP import. He loves it. ![]()
By the way.... welcome to the forum.

hotrods are the cheapest way to make power, it you're looking solely into making power and not looks, you could always buy a $500 G body, put in a cam+intake+Carb and you're already on the way...
