sup guys, im sixteen and looking to buy a new car. i want something thats pretty quick and its got to be under 18,000.my dad has some things he specifies like baisicly only imports,and its got to be new. Id like manual transmision cause thats what i always drive.
Ps.Do you think i should wait for the 06 civics?  

welcome to the world of driving, every young perosn who gets their liscence when 16 has the same feeling.  anyway, how new must it be?  and unless you have more money than that, your not gonna get performance right out of the box

but, how new are we talking?  like brand new?  what parent wants to buy a brand new car for there kid anyway, if you can go a few years back, like two or three, there may be a car that will fit your budget, and have some decent performance aspects as well.

What are u going to use the car mainly for race\truck usage and daily driven, or just for casual use, as a show car, what?  

well he wants it brand new because he says he wants it to last all the way through college. believe me i want a supra as bad as the next guy but he just wont let me get a car with that many miles. i mean maybe hed let me get something with like 10 grand on it at the most but thats about it.  

oh and its gonna be a daily driver. so do you think i should wait for the 06 civics or not.  

have u considered a scion xa,or xb, i know they lack powerwise but they're tons of aftermarket parts especially the xb, like from greddy or ings+1 for example. as for the civic get it if there is nothing else worthy that's my recommendation but still search for other stuff as well before it comes the time for the civic to come out.  

ya i have looked in to the scion tc which has 160 hp and 160 torque, and they say it retails for 16 thou but i went to the dealership and test drove one and they sold them for 18 grand so im kind of in a pickle.thanks guyz for all your advice and if you have anything else you want to advise me on i would appreciate it.  

Yeah i looked at a Scion XA as well.  I liked em, cant wait for all the mods that should be becoming more and more public.  Just plz no civic, they gettin annoying

My reccomendation, Integra or sometin but use that xtra cash to make it lovley lookin and drivin.  

Ya thanks, but my dad says that he 1 wont let me buy a used car and 2 wont let me put a bunch of money into it. He thinks tuning cars is stupid. even though he did it to his trucks when he was a kid. so i dont know what i should do he might put up with a few mods but he says all that money instead of using it for tuning should go into something that gains money not loses it. i tell its my love for cars, but he needs an answer thats concrete and logical, and i just dont have one, theres nothing to explain why i love it so much.

Hmm, Car Moral issues well i dunno what to say.  Summer job buy the stuff yourself, its wat im doin.  Make choices that would make ur dad appreciate the car more, maybe ask for suspension, new brakes *safety hint hint*
