hey guys,
i just bought myself a 93 Dodge stealth (i consider it an import seeing how almost everything on it is made by mitsubishi...unless im wrong bout that :P) SOHC V-6.

Its my first car (yes i am alittle young but plz dont be hatein' :P) so i wasnt lookin for for RT/TT (id rather not work 100000 jobs tryin to pay off insurance being 16 year old new driver with a twin turbo all wheel drive car :P).

Anyway, even with the SOHC the car still has some balls...but i would like a DOHC in it. i dont really know the difference in power between the two...beside the DOHC version has 222 hp and mine has 180?? but im assuming it would add some power. anyone know if its possible to do like a cheap convertion? i could do it all myself with my brother cuz we been workin on these cars forever (he ownes a 3000GT VR-4 . any help would be greatly appreciated, thx.

I think ur wrong about the whole mitsubishi thing. anyway if u want to do a swap like that u need to take out ur engine that u have now and try to find the better dohc engine.

I'm afraid to say that a conversion on that car isn't possible. The DOHC turbo motor isn't compatible with the SL drivetrain components (since it's not AWD). I don't know if there are any other motors that are DOHC that are made by DC that will work in there.

Check around on the net... maybe you'll dig something up.

couldnt he just switch out the drivetrain components and get the drivetrain that he needs or would that be to much work?

No. Trying to convert a car from FWD or RWD to AWD will easily cost twice as much as it would to just buy a car with the desired setup.
