Body kits. My dad thinks it is the best way to help restore a pontiac parisienne 1980 from it's extensive damaged rusty exterior. Any fedback? True it would be cheaper to buy a sunfire or something newer and more up to date...but for the moment I get this weird trembly feel whenever I step on the gas. I want to restore it from the ground up (a ton of work-engine and accessories) and one day turn it into a show-car rather than a speeed demon. At 4000 lbs that's nearly impossible and I'm not incredibly wealthy, anyway.
My original idea was to cut and bolt on new steel plates (found at Canadian tire) which are about half as thick as the previous rusting away steel slabs it has on now. Then again that's a lot of work and takes a lot of money in itself...that and it's not as safe as it would be (with the thicker steel plates) in a collision.
Anyway back on topic; Does anyone know where I can find a suitable body kit? Do they have to match the car's previous exterior or can they be of the same company (or size) but in a different (perhaps more modern or flashy) shell?
