all right! so i got this 1990 Nissan 240sx, (give me some slack i don't know too much about cars! and i'm a chick lol) anyhow! i had this (or so i think!) great idea! i would like to get a skyline engine for my car, now i'm pretty sure it'll fit. the engine is still good and everything. it just has 197000 miles on it. i don't want to do the silvia front end crap either! i just bought it a week ago. i'm not too happy with these stupid ass rims. but i could really careless how it looks right now. i want some bad ass power! any ideas? or anyone know where/ how to get one?

I would stick with a 4 cylinder motor preferably an SR20 motor, which would be inexpensive and easliy modified. But on the other hand if you are loaded and have money to burn the RB26 would not be a bad idea. Im not a nissan person myself and dont know how much the swap would be but im sure the sr20 could make as much power as the skyline motor and alot easier to install.

Skyline's have AWD drivetrains; it wouldn't work. Secondly, don't waste your money on a Skyline engine. You break anything or [censored] it up in anyway, you're going to have to get all your parts and stuff from Japan, which is going to be pricey. Get something else instead.

When you say power do you mean straight (drag) or sideways (drift), if you wana go sideways then you have the right car (although i myself would have bought an S15 instead of a 240sx)240, 200 sx S13, S14 & S15's are better for drifting but not so much for drag.

yes you can i myself am putting the RB26DETT into my 300zx now i havent seen at RB26 in a 240 but i have seen RB20s and Rb25s the Rb25 is still a skyline motor is just now from the GTR its a from a skyline gts and the Rb 20 is from the older model skylines. RB25 powered s14 there is an example of a 25 in s14 240

hey i think its great that u want to put a skyline motor in ur car just curious do u know if its a rb25 or rb26 more power to ya but i would suggest doing the sr20 swap its alot easier and its easier to find the parts u need to do the swap like mounts, wiring harnesess, ecu, and whatever else ive only seen 1 other 240 with a skyline motor and the car was an s13 ive done 2 sr20 swaps there pretty easy i think its great that u are interested in doing something like this its so nice seeing girls doing these things like u said for the power not the looks some great places to get parts are superior nissan, jim wolf tecnologys, nismo, toda, and a couple others i cant think of right now if u need any help id love to give any imformation i know just ask id be happy to help good luck.

It all depends on what kind of car you want it to be, drifter or drag. I'd personally would go for the SR20 swap and maybe do some decent engine and exhaust mods(intake, turbo, headers, the whole nine). I don't know if anyone has actually pulled off transplanting a skyline powerplant into a 240. That would be pretty amazing, but the drivetrain would definitely come into consideration. ( I have heard of the RWD skyline, but not too sure) Good luck with whatever you do, I wish I owned a 240.

well as a 240 owner ive also had this idea and the more i reseach this possiblity the more improbable and pain in a$$ this sounds like so i would go wit the sr swap myself cause its cheap, powerful, and beeen proven to work and be reliable
