well its been a while since ive been on here.i see they changed the forum quite a bit.but to jump to the point.we got to drive the not yet released 06 eclipse gt today, and man it is quick!i would say that it would give the ser's a run for their money.a huge improvement over the orevious models.the gt comes with a rockford sound system and a 10 inch sub from the factory, wich by the way doesnt sound half bad.i thought it was a customer in our service drive when i first heard it.18 inch wheels, leather and a sunroof.not bad for 27k.just thought you guys might enjoy that.

So is there a new line of engine in the car or is it an engine they have been using for a while.  It does look good.

yes, they have uped it to a 3.8,instead of the 3.5.263hp,260lb ft of torque.according to motor trend,it will run the quarter in 14.2@100mph.and you can actually feel the power of this one, unlike the previous model.still has a non-existant backseat though.but it seems as though the seat bottoms go back a little further.i wasnt about to try and get back there.over all,if i was in the market for a front drive,it wouldnt be a bad buy.mistubishi is getting a lot better than they used to be.

I heard someone comment about the wieght of the car but if it does the 1/4 in 14.2 with a professional driver then it's all good.  In the past few years I have noticed a boost power and looks with auto makers.

yeah thats cause its longer and wider, its actually wider than a ford escape, but with 250+ hp its still a rocket.  i think i heard it does the 0-60 in 5.1 or 5.2 sec.

We we will see how does new engine does after 6 months.  We will also so how the Mits. company treats her customer with these new cars.

I sure as hell hope so! Considering that it has a rather large horsepower advantage and probably gearing, too, I can't say I'm surprised. It is portly and rather thirsty.. so that's a turn off. Additionally, you have Mitsubishi themselves to contend with; as such, I'll pass despite how favorable the reviews might be.

And until they make another AWD turbo, I'm not interested.

I had a '96 GS and have nothing good to say other than the insurance was cheap.

One of the car mags test drove the Eclipse v6, 15 mpg. They drove the 4 cylinder and liked it a lot better.

Car and Driver (as well as Road and Track, I think) recently tested the Eclipse GT. Both came to the conclusion that the motor is rather thirsty... and, of course, requires premium gas. Bummer.
