All that speed won't help when you can't drive.

A big miss conception about racing is that most people think all one needs to do is to get ahead of the other person once and a victory is attained, but that is not a race.  A race has a start and finish, and there are rules.  If one does not like when one or more cars blocks then that driver needs to switch to drag racing.  Also being in front or being #1 in a race is not all that it's cracked up to be.  I believe it places a mental game inside of driver's head.  A thought may come to someone like,"Aw...man, I can't shake this guy off my bumper and one false move and he'll over take my position”.  A fast car does not prepare a driver for a race, and a car with lesser qualities with a good driver has the advantage.

I think that mental game stuff is true. I think it's worse when a skilled driver with a superior car is riding your tail, it gives you a "get off my back and pass me already dammit!!!" kind of feeling.

troof

a fast car does not mean that people can drive them.  Driving skill and how fast your car is do not come hand in hand

A skilled driver can still easily be beaten by a less-skilled driver if the less-skilled driver has a superior car.

Agreed. What I love the most are people who race on the streets who think just because they're driving wrecklessly - weaving in and out of traffic, and going faster - they are winning. Racing, with the exception of drag, has a lot to do with also following the right lines. You're right. It's not just a question of who's first.

I have to agree with you on this. all speed does not win races. I have out raced a stang becuase he did not know how to race, he pulls up aside of me on the highway and thinks he the *** drops it a gear and takes off, so i drop a great and catch up to him, theres an open spot and he does not take it, so i took it and by the time he relized it was there i was out. all that power and no brains. you have to pay scan the highway or where ever it is you are racing to see openings or places you can get a good jump on the person.

I would have to agree dog.  When I'm running a fresh *** skillet wid me hommies, I bang dem gears like a 50 cent ***  It's bout da skils.  Know what I'm sayin?  I bet dat stang driver really got schooled by your skills and thinks twice bout not scanning the highway for opening while racing in traffic.  You must be one smart cracker.

I agree.

1. Geotrackerboy`s posts never follow the topic. Or also never make much sence either.

I think he should mature up, or leave.

2. I also think hes one of those anti-imports muscle car owners who come here mocking us and puts us in the same category as ricers. I don`t think he actually owns a geo. If you look in some of his first post he says hes doing 15% increases just by putting a cheap autozone thing. He also said it made him a great tuner. I think this was trying to mock us becaus he is acting like a ricer to make fun of us.

I didnt know how to right it down but.. long in short: hes here to make fun of us.

Anyone els realized this?

You're right. It's not how fast your car is that counts. It's your skill. When you'v gotten some good skills, then you can start using faster cars, and dyno tuning them, and adding upgrades to get them faster.
