hey there. ive been into the import tuner thing for almost 2 years now(couldnt drive yet) and i wanted to see what kind of car i should start out with for tuning. i hear the earlier civics(96-00) are nice for this kind of thing and cheap. i was looking for around 20k max i guess. guys have any advice or other cars that are stylish and good for tuning? thanks.

As long as the car you choose is not FWD and comes with either turbo/supercharger or a v8, it should make a good tuning platform on the cheap.

This would eliminate most hondas however.

what the hell? this is his first car and he wants it to be cheap so a FWD might be in the list and not a v8 even tho i dont like FWD

Have you considered the geo tracker?  I love mine.  I can spank most accura/hondas now that I have done some simple mods.  They also handle like they are on rails.

20k is a good amount to spend, lets see an rx7 costing around 9-12k depending on the year, and 6k into the engine later and you have a v8 killer. also as an option are the older supra turbo's good engine, rear wheel drive, pretty light and turbo'd already.
