Depends On the type of racing your doing i think, if u have the money, i say get a silvia but thats cause i like drifting and i know its a great car for it...prolly w/e year u can find is good as long as its not b4 1995 id say, only problem is u usually dont find them in the states, it sa european car and u will need to get a ne transmission, it just depends on how much money u have really, if your that new and dont wanna spend the money on your car, then u probably dont want a silvia...then again i dont know about how they make them in the states, im from canada :P, im new-ish to the scene to and hopefully getting a 2005 honda civic soon

I'm new to the scene as well, and from my understanding, Silvia's aren't available in the states. Most of the ones I keep hearing about are conversions from 240's.

If i was in your situation i would first consider how much funding you have, and how much you are willing to spend on your car. For budget i would most likely pick up either a silva or a tiburon since they are cheap upgrade mostly.
