Well this is a very open-ended question; what type of car do you like, do you want, FWD, RWD, AWD, turbo, supercharger, 4 cyc, v6, v8. There are a lot of type of cars. What I like might not be the same as what you like. I like AWD turbo cars that have handling and power, but because of it being AWD it weighs a little more and is not the best car from the factory for draging.

Another thing body kits and drag and drift racing do not mix. Too many chances to break the kit. Body kits can look nice but if you only have 8k I would put it all into the car and put off the body kit.

The car that I would buy would be a WRX or an EVO but both of these cars cost $25k+. The gsx is AWD but I'm not sure of the cost but I would think its around 8k. The ones that I looked at were well moded and cost about 12k so that might be a good car to start looking at.

good luck

personally if you are only limit to 8 thousand dollars to spend i would just get a good decent used car usually integras or civics are good starter cars to fix up cause theres a whole bunch of parts you could buy for them.if not theres always the 90-95 eclipes you could buy but dont really know how much they go for.if you are looking for a fast car i would go with the 94 mustangs. they already have the power to them but again i dont really know how much they go for. if you want to check the prices of cars go to bluebook.com they usually give prices for most if not all car prices.or cars.com.also bodykits are a bad way to go because lately body kits on cars to me look really bad.

Well if your friedn has a GS then his is very different from a GSX. Frist off the GS is only FWD, does not have a turbo. Did he give you any reason why the GSX sucks, other then it just does, answers like that mean he does not like the car and has nothing to back it up. Between the two the GSX can go a lot faster then the GS since it has more power. And its AWD so it will have better handling then the GS.

Hope that helps
good luck

im not going to suggest any cars for ur budget because if u want a car to drift or even drag race off the bat with 8k
that a little to ask for. maybe u can buy a car of YOUR choice, not the public, because in the end, its ur money and ur gonna buy wat u want anyways. i recommend a RWD if ur going to drift, AWD if ur basically going to race. I personally prefer AWD. I dont drift its to money risky...
