Ok heres the deal.

Im guessin Ricers are the ppl who try to make there car looked pimped but under the hood is stock and there running on 100-180hp sayin there ride is sick.

now...i might be getting a 1990 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo...(from the factory its got 300hp and 283lb ft torque) i plan on strappin on some nice (non-chrome) rims...a nice paintjob...maybe a low profile spoiler...personilzed intierior (petals,shiftknob,seats,soundsystem,steering wheel...etc.) and some weight reduction cuz its about 3400-3500lbs

and if i had some more $$$ would deffintly throw in some engine ups

now would you consider me a ricer? or would see it in my point of view going....hmm my car is pretty fast for it being stock...i want it to look nice and be personalized.

what i think of as ricer is someone who knows nothing about cars, like those people who dont know what engine they even have, tring to modify thier car
and the end result would be a hideous multi colored (becaue they didnt bother to paint) fiberglass blob with the bodykit duct tape on and a 10 foot wing thats barely hanging on, and plastic hub caps or spinners from Wallmart

*** that car is heavy. The delsol runs high 15s and the 300zx turbo only runs high 14s. I would hope for a better time out of a 300hp car. The delsol had what, 130hp+/- and with some mods it could be running the same as a 300zx and the 300zx is turbo.

I think you need to look at a lighter car. Having a NA FWD car catching up with your turbo car is a little depressing.

But I would not think your a ricer, just someone who has a heavy car. I think of a ricer as someone who revs their car a lot, when it has little hp but thinks they can bet an ferrari enzo.  

I agree with Hairy Sheep and Blue LED's, i wouldnt say your a ricer, no offense Blue LED's but he didnt mention racing it or anything he just wants it to be original, which is exactly what he'll get, its not that hard to get some bolt ons, he said hes not putting egine-ups in it, so he's probably not gunna race it, id say your doing fine, and not to worry about performance if your not racing it anytime soon  

Yeah I was just responding to the other reply. Being a ricer is more of an aditude then how your car looks.

Body kits and neons are associated with rices because some people how have these on there car act like it makes it faster. But if you put a body kit and neons on your car because you like the look and  want to be different then I wouldn't think of you as a ricer.

I know I'm being a little repetitive but I've been thinking about what classifis a ricer.  

A ricer is some one who thinks "The Fast and the Furious" is an accurate depiction of cars, and who will remove the back seat to save weight, but then installs like 20 subwoofers and a bunch of neons.  

I think that you should spend the cash on engine mods. Screw the paint job and sound system. Going fast is FUN!  

Going fast is fun but installing a kick-ass sound system is also fun; if you're doing the installation your self that is. Unless you're paying someone to install the sound system then all you can say is look at this kick-ass sound system that I PAID someone to install.  

First before you do anything, ask yourself a few questions.  It would be a waste of money just to go a do a few things to it for the sake of doing it unless your loaded and it doesn't really matter.  How long do you plan on having the car?  What do you want to get out of it?  What are you going to use it for?  Street, drag, drift or just to pull chicks?  How far are you WILLING to go with your budget as well as the car?  What condition will it be in?  If you can work out a specific direction you are wanting to head with the car, working out what to put on or into your car will be alot easier and your money will be spent better.  

See i consider a ricer the people that roll around in Cavaliers with massive wings, busted up body kits and insanely loud and large exhaust that does nothing for the car.
Tons of people only modify the outside of the car.
Under the hood most people would simply just turbo the car since it's the most affordable thing to do.

As long as the outside of the car stays clean looking and tasteful then it's not rice.

ricers are the guys who at a stop light pull up next to u, put the car in park, and rev the engine in their automatic
they are the ones who put big flashy neons on the bottom of their car
their the ones who lost the race and when u start to slow down, they zoom by thinkking they won cuz they went further  

you would be a ricer if you had a hyundai elantra with a huge body kit and a apoiler that taller and wider than the car. there is one in my town. everything under the car is stock includin stock exhoaughst and intake. it has a neon green paint job. alot of ricers have money they just care about looks and not what matters. ill take a three different primer colored talon tsi any day.people laugh at me cause it would look ugly, but looks is not what matters. if you can see you paint job from a plane your a ricer. i myself love black.
