ricers are the ones who put a turbo on an 80s civic dx tuned to 3 psi and think they can beat vettes.
Ricers are the ones that put Nismo stickers on their Civic's and Type R stickers on their 350z's
Ricers are the ones with the JDM air fresheners
Ricers have wings so big they cant see out the back
Ricers often Have fire balls/flame decals on their cars, or if they are really cool, bullet holes.
Ricer cars often resemble jet planes rather than automobiles.

I have a jdm air freshener and i am by no means rice. The smell of mango is awesome.
I agree with the stickers. Most ricers just jam them all over their car. Nismo, TRD, that kind of crap. Or whatever crap ultra bright fake chrome wheels they are rolling on.

your not a ricer. ricer's are typically broke, and only do the most simple mods to their cars, which are 9 times out of ten Civics. how to spot a ricer? annoyingly loud considering they have no power to back it up, incomplete body kits(no paint, only side skirts) that kind of thing

i disagree on some of the thing you said i dub. i know many tuners that have partial body kit cause they dont hve the money to purchase it all. alot of real tuners have 2-3 different colors of primer on there car cause they cant afford to get a paint job so theyre gonna doit themselves.i run stickers from carshows or brand that i really like and have installed in my car on my windows, usually on the far sides of the front or the small side window, never on the body, i also put my cc on the top of my back window. all i have on my car is intake exhaughst and a shiftkit. those are kind of basic cause i dont have a bunch of money. AND I AM DEFFINITLY NOT A RICER.

I disagree with idub as well, I view ricers as obnoxious, money has nothing to do with it.
The magazine "projet tuner car" recently challenged super street to a build off, both had EF hondas (superstreet had a civic, project car had a crx)
Super street did an engine swap (B16), some suspension work, exhaust etc, and spent 5 grand on performance stuff, then got the car painted , some rims, and somenew seats.
Project car spent 4 grand total, including the purchase of the crx (which had a blown motor) They stole the d16 that super street threw out (had 200k+ miles), took the turbo off a junkyard eclipse, grabbed piping out of eurotuners trash bin, and spent a month fabricating all the parts for the turbo (ebay intercooler BTW).
In all project car won out by a few milliseconds on the strip, and produced about 2 horsepower less than the civic, after the drag race they cranked the boost dangerously high and almost doubled the power of the worn out D16 (had about 90HP on the dyno)
Anyways my point is having less money usually makes someone a better tuner, as they have to put more effort into building their car. Someone who buys a BMW and has never laid a hand tuning their own car is more of a ricer than someone with a civic saving money to paint their own body kit.

G'day, Would y'all consider a vehicle an import if it was originally built in the US with European emissions equipment, shipped overseas, and purchased new in Europe? Then, upon the ending of tour of duty, shipped back to the US.

G'day, OK, so I was being a bit of a butt head as I know the answer. Its an American made, American brand, but it was exported when new and brought back years later. It was designated for import when it was assembled so no catalytic converter, full dual exhaust, and a 165 speedo instead of the US 85 mph.
I don't know how long it had been back in the US when I got it but the above things were not changed at the time that I got it. I purchased the car from the original owner who had decided to have a major confrontation with the US legal system and needed cash. Right place at the right time I guess.
The car is a 1980 Corvette, but I always kiddingly tell people when asked that I have a Chev vette and let them jump to whatever conclusion they wish.

G'day, The import scene has taken quite a while to really penetrate here. A lot of the vehicles are driven by what you refer to as ricers. Not a lot of modifications that really affect the overall performance of the car. A lot of large wings, decals, and loud exhast.
However, as we drag race, we have seen more and more well built cars showing up at the track. The track started off just having "import" days separately from the regular days but we have seen more and more import cars showing up on regular days.
Some of our import driving friends have been pitting with us and it has been fun watching the progress the import drivers have been making with the old guard as far as acceptance. The guys we race with and even against are no longer referred to as ricers and are now just considered fellow racers.
