well heres the deal. (i dont know alot about cars)

i might be buying a Nissan 300zx ('90) with a Twin Turbo. Its pumpin 300bhp and 283lb ft torque.

Is there anything you can do (mods) that give you more a torque boost than a horsepower boost because id like to pump the torque up more than the horses.

why? thats a good number unless your just generaly wanting more power, but the best way to get better torque is by making your torque curve flatter, the more boost you put through a turbo the more it bows then spikes the tq curve
getting a flat curve is much more important than just getting torque, period. a flat curve will keep you accelerating from low rpms untill you hit the rev limiter

I hear the tornado in your intake will work pretty good.  There's also a kit to put better spark plugs in it from auto zone but it might be a scam.  Good luck on your build.

Thanks,
Devon

Better spark plugs will help with power it is not a scam. The tornado on the other hand is seen as a scam by a lot of people.

Platinum spark plugs produce a hotter spark and burn more of the fuel = more power.

A good tuner would use some mad *** props.  I'd try the new 3 foot wing they have at autozone to get dat whip roll'n.

Thanks

How does adding a wing have any thing to do with torque? If your mocking me for saying that spark plugs are not a scam then this is a sad way of saying it.

I don't know if the tornado really works but I do know that better spark plugs will give the car more power and better fuel economy; less gas is wasted more gets burned.

well spark plugs arent a scam, but they wont increase power, unless you have neglected to change your plugs regularly and the ones you have are covered with oil, carbon or just plain shot

modern EFI cars monitor exhuast gasses, if there is unburnt fuel in the exhuast than your cars ECU will compinsate somehow for it, by either increasing the spark or reducing the amount of fuel going in

plugs are only good for cars without ECUs and modified cars
but you can change the heat of the spark by changing the space between the electrode and other thingy, all you do is barly tap it

it might harm your car more than help, your car is made for that specific heat and type of plug, a cooler plug will mean your not burning all your fuel, a hotter spark can cause pinging and detonation from the cylinder becoming to hot and the gas igniting before it even reaches the spark, which can be either annoying or cause major damage

So are you saying that Platinum plugs are not need on a unmodified car or are they a waste of money. I've read that the ECU will compinsate but I have also read that a hotter spark burns more of the gas. Which is it or is it both depending on the car and how it is used?

well i should have said this before, but from what ive heard they do seem to work many in domestics, especialy V8s
but in many forgien especialy European cars, theyll cause problems with your motor and its best to go with what the factory recomends

dude why not just add a supercharger (JWT)
of course upgrades are in the works
exaust fuel and make sure your turbos wont be harmed
and a good tune shop cause a quick flash just wont work

the vq engine in the 300 was serious making 500 horses is a couple paychecks away you know

I know this is a lame question, but what're the best ways to get your torque curve flatter?
